Into the Furnace....

Time to say goodbye to Williams.

It was a long drive ahead but we made sure we had enough energy for the journey by visiting the Pine Country Restaurant. It never disappoints.

It is really early but the sky is already blue!

Goodbye lovely quilt shop..

..... and back to this.

And lots of this.

Brief stop in Kingman Arizona to check out Walmart for Neil's shopping. Hurrah, they have one of them!

60 miles later and we are in Nevada - yes today is another 3 State day!

This is Boulder City, again not a city, but a town created for the workers who built the Hoover Dam.

Not only is this a quilt shop.....

.... but it is one which is closing down! Bargains!

Fabric $5 a yard, part of a jelly roll for $3 and some crochet cotton, usually $2.75 each, this whole bag for $8. Chris bought fabric, a glue gun, a panel, a new ruler, a huge bag of scraps, 5 balls of crochet cotton and a kit with 3 yards of fabric in it all for $36. We retire happily to the Coffee Cup Cafe for lunch.

Before getting back to this. After a couple of hours we are in California.

Here to be exact!

And at 5pm this is the temperature.

We are pleased to have made such good time so we visit the visitors centre.

Home for a couple of days.

Sunset over the Black mountains to the east.

Death Valley, you either love it or hate it.

At 9.30 pm it is still 98 degrees :-)

  1. The challenge is to find a town without a quilting shop! Great photos xx
