En route to Moab

After a quick breakfast in the hotel coffee shop we leave Glenwood Springs and head west on
Interstate 70
Despite being a motorway it is a beautiful drive, through canyons with the Colorado River still alongside.
Just before Grand Junction we stop at Murdoch's Ranch and Home supply in our latest episode of 'hunt the bee suit'......
Guess what??
They had one in the right size, made by Harvest Lane Honey - hurrah!
Encouraged by this success we head next to Hobby Lobby to look for Caroline's die..
This is an amazing shop, inside they were putting out the Christmas decorations. Ribbon anyone?
Trying not to be distracted we head for the right department and find this display..
Caroline do you spot the bottle die in the second row? It is now in the suitcase!!
On to Walmart which is next door (we have not spent nearly enough time in Walmart yet!)
We are on the hunt for some toys for Neil but no luck today.
Back on the Interstate 70 and we are soon in our next state, Utah.
Although the road is amazing we are tempted by another short cut along the 128 following the Colorado River so off we go. It is a very quiet road.
No cars....
.... just these guys...
After a couple of miles of straight road the scenery changes dramatically and we find ourselves in a mini version of the Grand Canyon.
We stopped dozens of times......
..... so it wasn't really a short cut after all.
There is a cycle route through the valley!
And lovely old bridges.
Just around the corner after this bridge we find the small town of Moab.
We're hungry so after a small dispute with the Bowen Motel about a room with a view we head off here.
And finally .....
We have taco salads!
