Happy Birthday Rosie!!

Hi Rosie!
A few of your friends stopped by to wish you a very Happy Birthday.
Starting with the King and Queen of the Avenue.

Colin who now leads a philosophy for children initiative at school - you would love it!

Philippa standing in front of my year round christmas decorations.

Vee, smiling at 4pm on a Friday!

Amanda who makes me feel very old as we both taught her!

Neil looking very trim as he is about to run the London marathon.

Vicky who is as camera shy as ever..

Angela, showing off her lovely tidy house and her calligraphy skills.

The English department, photoshopping experts.

Therese, still thinking geographically as always.  Another 'old rook' took this photo of Therese as behind the camera was Ann Paterson who sends you her best wishes as does Maddy Durand.

Chris shows us why she was in charge of ICT.

Marilyn, with Joan looking on.

And here is Joan again.

Bonjour Sou. This photo needs zooming in on! We thought the child was real but I think it's a trompe l'oeil (typically French!).

The dream team aka maths department...

Ann and Liz xx

Alison playing secretary.

And finally Nathalie, look carefully and you can admire our new tables and bookshelf in the maths department.

We all send you lots of love and hope that you have a very special day.
Love you lots Rosie xxxx

A quilt for Rosie

Last week a few of us got together on a rainy January day to continue a Rookwood tradition, to make a quilt for someone we love.

Chris was there to warm up the machines.

Closely followed by Sou and Adrian. Watch out Adrian, you'll be signed up for costume making for the next production!

Diane was the resident expert in machine threading.

Iron your seams to the dark side Adrian!

William couldn't say no to Mrs Brett.....

Never thought I'd see the day :-)

Sou chooses her fabrics for block 2.

Time for a break.

Therese bought doughnuts. Some things never change.

Concentration.

Ann and Imogen popped in to sew a block.

Sou is sewing up a storm (she's been practising).

Hi Phillippa, time to get sewing.

Marilyn held the record for most blocks sewn.

Joan gets a lesson from Diane.

Hang on, one side is bigger than the other .........

Over half way...

Joan is flying....

Ah, now I see where I went wrong.

You've got to be accurate.

Queen of the rotary cutter.

Alison tears herself away from her marking to join us. It's much more fun!

Therese is promoted to quilt planner.

Sou is going to make another quilt when she gets home!

Kaye sews the final block - nearly there!

Sunday morning at Chris', time to tack and chat.

The back of the quilt.

Margaret, hemming expert.

Angela sewing in the sunshine.

Scrappy binding.

Ta dah!

Quilt posing.

We love you Rosie xxxxxxxx
